The Escondus development started during the late sixties and lastest
for almost thirty years. The OLAN, where the apartment is located,
and the OUTAGNO where the two first constructions and are the only
one with the same fllor plan. The later residences were then all
different in terms of plan, shape and size.
But they all share similar features and patterns that give harmony
and character to the whole development: dark wood covered facade
reminding the color of Meleze in winter, white concrete, terrace
roof top, large open windows, each studio or appartment with a balcony.
LUBERON, ECRINS, PELVOUX, LAUZET, FIBIERES, CHAMBEYRON, PASTOURLET,
PANESTREL ... all are named after a regional mountain or summit
of the southerne French Alps.
This architecture designed by the Ludmer Studio, might not be anymore
what is expected today but still, it is quite confortable to live
in and to enjoy the surrounding nature with the large windows and
balconies.

"Your
appartment at the heart of the Escondus forest" was the motto
imagined by the developper to attract buyers to be.
And it is still part of a forest despite the large amount of mélèzes
and pines that have been cut off for the benefits of tourism to design
slopes and build lifts, chalets and buildings. |
